The VII international competition of Kinodot

Congratulations to the winners!

The prize for the best experimental film and $1000
Yung Lean, Please Be My Yung Love by Julia Mellen: a modern love story - honest, heartfelt, messy, direct, all told in the language of the youtube era.

Special mention by the jury
Operation Jane Walk by Leonhard Müllner and Robin Klengel: original and bright work with an innovative approach and a good sense of humor. The directors look at the urbanism of New York and its historic, political, economic and social aspects, and at the same time reflect on the representation of the virtual and the violence within it. The film is full of sensational ironic details, it’s well written, funny and political.

Special mention by the jury
Gulyabani by Gürcan Keltek: a dense essay with semantic depth, mythology, a dramatic story, and a delightful presentation - very subtle cinematic matter achieving inner intellectual silence.

The Jury 2019: Miquel Martí Freixas, Wouter Jansen and Tamara Larina

Hand and Machine. Hand made 16mm films from Australia
Special screening by Richard Tuohy and Dianna Barrie
