Regulations 2016 

Kinodot is a festival of minimalist short films, launched in 2012. The films submitted must match at least one of the four selection criteria:

No Money - films made without a budget; 
No Mumbling - films without dialogue or narration; 
No Music - films without a music score; 
No Montage - films made without editing, i.e. filmed in one shot.

In 2016 Kinodot is opening the entry call for two main competitions: 

Observer Competition (15-17.04.2016) 

Documentaries up to 40 minutes, finished within 18 months before the festival, complying with basic Direct Cinema rules and our selection criteria (see above) are eligible. 
The venue: St. Petersburg Documentary Film Studio, Krukov kanal 12.

ASAP Competition (01-30.04.2016)

As Simple As Possible - the title is based on the Einstein's principal 'Make things as simple as possible, but not simpler'. Short films of any genre up to 20 minutes in length, finished within 24 months before the festival, matching at least one of our selection criteria (see above) are eligible.

The deadline for both Kinodot competitions is February 1. The entry fee is 5€.

Rules & Terms

Online film festival Kinodot is working through the whole year. Films are available on our website in true HD quality with secure player.

By submitting the film to ASAP Kinodot Competition the copyright owners agree that, if selected, the film will be made available for non-commercial screening on secure Kinodot website for duration of at least one month (during online competition), and that the films will also be screened offline up to 3 times in the next two years during non-commercial promotional Kinodot screenings.

By submitting the film to Observer Kinodot Competition the copyright owners agree that, if selected, the film will be screened up to 4 times during the festival and up to 2 more times in the next two years during non-commercial promotional Kinodot screenings.

The decision about including films in the competitive and non-competitive programs is taken by the festival selection committee. Their decision is subjective, final and not negotiable.
